Taking the ACT test can increase chances of earning new or better scholarships. One counselor found that over 10 years, more of her students earned more scholarship dollars with ACT scores than SAT scores.
The ACT is accepted by the same colleges and universities that accept SAT scores, including Ivy League schools.
The ACT test is the only admissions test to measure science skills and report a STEM score to help students interested in science, technology, engineering, and math stand out to potential colleges!
College applications are like a puzzle—with each piece of information, admissions officers can develop a more complete picture of an applicant. Students with an ACT score can show schools they have the grit to put in the work.
Students who take the ACT test can use a calculator for the entire math section! The SAT does not allow this.
In addition to a composite score, the ACT score report can help testers explore how their career interests align with their strengths, see if they meet ACT Readiness Range benchmarks, and compare scores to other students in New York.
ACT now offers an ACT Superscore! A superscore is the average of a student's four best subject scores from each test attempt to count as an official score.
